Ok need help and I hope you fine folk's will help me. I'm running vista ultimate w/sp1 all updates installed to date. I had com surrogate issues till vista codec pack 473 was installed [was running 470and tried 471,472 both were worst] now I have some comsurrogate issues but mostly I have windows explorer crashes when I try to use some [most] of my deskscape dreams I have a large collection of deskscapes and they all worked before the last clean install I did about a month ago. when did the install I installed the newest codec pack at the time which was 472 ,and had all kinds of trouble! after trying a couple older packs they released 473 and it solved some of my issues and played all video's I had so I thought great till I tried to use my deskscapes when I try to use them windows explorer crashes and when I check problem reports I see nvcpl.dll [nvidia] , and stackHash_fd00[firefox??] as the faulty componetes. I beleive I have deskscapes 1.02 installed and have no issues with dreams from windows or any video I use with windows dreams just with deskscapes , before I installed 473 I had some other faulty moduals causing crashes mostly codec related but 473 stopped those but if you need the info to help I'll gladly type it in on next responce
Thank's in advance for any help

Oh by the way I do have vista codec packs 460-473 if needed and a few older ones on disk I'd have to digg out if that helps? I'm a packrat I collect and keep copy's of everything even stuff I've never used !!!
As a after thought I have enclosed a Everest report on my system I know it's alot of info but better to much than not enough, right ??
left out the everest report no way to add it to your forum

Yes I know about the knowledgable people here that why I posted here , they've help in the past. and microsoft tried their forum , got a thread leading to internet explorer crasing due to "StackHash_fd00 " .but none that deal with my issue and tried to call since ultimate is suppose to offer special option's , they said for $65.00 more they'd help !! that after paying $100.00 more for ultimate , well that plain P***ed me off so at this point I don't think that's a option, sorry not meaning to be short ,but I was up all yesterday and last night looking for answer to this, and to be honest If I found a sure fix right now I wouldn't do it till tomorrow. I'm tired and going to bed soon I need it and hey , I might wake up to some one having the answer !
thank's for the post though at least I know the site is still alive!!
    Later...peace!!
