i have this problem, any help will be appreciate. first i have a p2 pc with window 98. when i turn off the pc it shut down by itself. but after i install window xp pro, when i turn it off, it said now it's safe to turn off the pc. i have to reach down and turn it off, this is really annoying... is there any way i can fix this problem.. please help.... thanks

there's your problem right there. an intel P2 processor won't be able to handle XP Pro. you're going to have to upgrade your processor/mobo/ram to install Pro.
sorry for the wrong forum but i install xp pro successfully, the system is P2, 300mhz. 320 mb pc 100, 12gb hd..it runs good.. the only problem is with the turn the power off, thanks
well, in that case, check your power settings and see if you have any options there to fix your issue. right click on your background, select properties, go the screensaver, then Power.
