I recently had a computer running Windows Vista that I upgraded to Windows 7. After it installed completely, the computer rebooted and failed to start. The monitor was blank and the hard drive would spin up once and then stop. I have since tried disconnecting hard drives, dvd drives, etc and it will not even get into bios screen because the monitor wont even come on. I have taken the computer battery out and even tried to reset the power supply on the computer. It did start once and it went to the windows 7 removal screen, saying t did not install properly. It was in the same screen half way through removal and froze up for a long time and I unplugged the computer and it has not started since. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It might be that you could get into bios if you pressed the keys quickly enough after turning the unit on. It may be finishing the bios and starting windows 7 before the screen warms up enough to dispay the prompt. Try starting the system and repeatedly tapping F10, F8, DEL, or whatever your bios key is, if you still can't get into bios, you may have had a hardware failure.
The monitor doesnt come on. It is in standby mode the entire time. But by the sound of the hard drive and the the fans, it sounds like the hard drive spins up once and then it shuts down.
