I just bought a new computer with windows 7. I cant get my hp psc 2175 series printer to work. Hp has no compatible drivers or software. DVD shrink and itunes gives me problems. Should I dump windows 7? Any help would be appreciated.
I would also like to know if windows xp media edition will work on my new laptop that has windows 7 64 bit
Is your account user or admin? Do you have UAC turned all the way up? Program compatibility mode= http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html Update your printer = click Start/ all programs/ windows updates After it finds updates, look through the optional ones your print driver should be there. If not see if there is one for vista and try that for fun.
PLease bear with me Im not that computer savy. I tried to install the software that came with my hp 2175 series printer on my new windows 7 laptop. It would not install because it wasnt compatible. It then directed me to try to install limited use mode which did not work either. Hp website didnt seem to have any updated software or drivers for this printer. Does microsoft excpect me to buy all new hardware to run with windows 7. I would rather go back to xp. Any ideas would be appreceiated.
Really you don't need the software that comes with the printer, you only need the driver to let windows interact with and use the device. I googled hp2175 drivers and found this page http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=90809&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en your printer will work with windows 7 64bit. Just follow the link to 64bit instructions. it better details what I said, get windows update and go through optional updates...
