windows 7 not genuine error

    Hi

    I've recently just installed Windows 7 on my new computer. It was running fine for 2 weeks, until the desktop background turned black with this message:
    "windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine" written on the bottom right.

    Is this being caused by a virus? And how do I check whether my Windows 7 is genuine or not?

    first question i have is,where did you get your copy of win 7? did it have a key with it? and yes it has to be validated after install.
