    Hi people,

my windows 7 wont install because it says i have to uninstall trend micro internet security 2008. Unfortunately I do not have this program nor have i ever used it in the past. Have checked my computer thoroughly but still cant find it.

clean install.. wiping everything existing. though why you want to downgrade is a mystery.

how would i be downgrading if im going from windows vista to windows 7?
I actually found the program, it was housecall which is run by trend micro. However i uninstalled this but it still wont let me install windows 7. Any idea on how to completely remove housecall?

Just guessing but W7 is regarded as just an updated version of Vista and XP is preferred over both. I know I've had some pretty severe problems with both that I don't with XP but again, just guessing. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070711134153AAfjkIC or try CCleaner or failing that, a good Registry Cleaner but be careul with them, it's not hard to remove a wrong item. RegSeeker is free and very aggressive, can't remember but may have to run in compatability mode or even be run as administrator when opened. You can select to only remove green items (safe).

There's nothing wrong with Windows 7..in fact it blows old XP and Vista out the water.

I'm not knocking W7, just guessing what the meaning of a comment was. I could have mentioned it doesn't recognize my DVD Drives, XP does; some programs that I have that work in XP don't in W7, the ability to sort icons manually was removed in W7. no biggie but pretty stupid. I guess renaming and sorting by name might work but not interested. Anyway, it's a fine OS but not for me.
