I just upgraded my system this afternoon with Windows 7 64 bit and so far i'm very satisfied with the OS. It running fast and stable with no hickups what-so-ever. I primarily do a lot of graphic design work and now I can also use Photoshop 64 bit version with the Open GL. I running 6 gigs of corsiar memory at 1600 mhz, 300 gb Western Digital Velociraptor HD and this thing is flying. Just wanted to share my thoughts before I went to bed. Anyone else out there who has upgraded please chime in. More details tomorrow!!!
moved to correct forum as not a building a new pc issue. Windows 7 XP Pro Full Version, no such thing.
I've been running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit for 2 months. The only issue I had was needing to update some of my applications. I moved from 32 bit XP Pro, so I had to perform a clean install. The software for my multi-function printer doesn't work, but using Windows built-in scanner software works fine. I also opted to use Microsoft's new security essentials instead of AVG. I can't really say if it's better or worse, but it works better with Windows Home Server. I kept getting a message that my computer wasn't protected when I used AVG. I think it had to do with how the process starts, as the message would go away after awhile, but it was kind of annoying. I haven't tried all of the features yet, but I've been very happy with Windows 7 so far.
