No questions on asking why and what not. But what is the limit to how much RAM I can when using Windows 98se. Plus what other hard-ware limitations are there? I got a 2.40ghz dual core i'm considerin poppin 98se on. Would that work? I checked all the software drivers and what not they're all still accepted using 98se, but someone was telling me, dual don't work, and any ram over 512mb doesn't work. I wanna hear it from someone who knows they're stuff lol. can 2.40ghz dual core with 2 gigs of ram computer run windows 98se without problems cause of it's oldschool-ness
There is a problem with 98 that will make more than 512mb a problem. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q253912& I think it might be easier if you just install 98 in a virtual machine on that computer. That would save you some trouble and you can use all the ram.
I don't understand why in the hell anybody would ever want to run that pile of crap.. it was shite when it came out and 12 years on it's even more shite.. install ME ffs and have done... in 2 years go see a trichologist. 95 I could understand for maybe 1 function.. but 98?
ROFL, ME was a P.O.S, same with Vista. i've yet to have problems with 98se, xp, and 7... well 7 I have some issues with but i've been able to fix them. Anywaysa thanks krj for the help thanks scum for being a troll.
