When I insert a DVD-R or RW windows XP CD writer wants to override Nero & I have to do a Restart so Nero sees the DVD. I have Nero set to see any CD or DVD when it’s inserted but the Windows Righter always comes up. This is with a Blank CD-R or RW, a Blank DVD-r or RW & an INCD CD-RW or an INCD DVD-RW. Maybe I need to Disable the windows XP CD writer but searching the Net haven’t found a way to do it. I have even had an INCD DVD-RW that stopped working & I had to Format it again. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? 5 weeks now & 3 emails to Nero support, (or should I say Lack Of), with no Response from them. Thanks in advance, Mike.
Go to your my computer area, right click on the burner, select properties, there will be a recording tab, select the recording tab, and take the check out of enable cd recording on this drive, click apply then ok. That will disable windows native burning. With it enabled that tells windows to use its native burning. Which btw came from nero as well if I remember correct.
Thanks whompus, that fixed it. I have one AVI, The Gods must be Crazy that I would like to put on DVD to watch on TV but I won’t buy a program to do that for just 1 Movie. I thought Nero 6 would do it but it won’t. I live in the Philippines & will buy the God’s DVD the next time I visit the US. Thanks. Mike.
PS: Here in the PI High Quality DTS DVD’s cost about us$2 but they only have the new Movies & not the Old good Stuff..!! China Pirates..!! And they r good & cheap.
