windows explorer error

    when i open up my documents,,i get an error message that windows explorer has encountered a problem n needs 2 close,, ne advice ???

    Probably there is something in your Documents folder that Windows is trying to preview with a thumbnail, but the codec is missing or damaged.

    Try moving everything out of "My Documents" into a temporary folder. Don['t name it "temp" or "temporary". Mainly try to move out any video or image files. See if you can browse to My Documents without a crash. That'll help you isolate which file type is causing problems. It's easiest to do this in DOS.

    Alternatively:

    Try going into My Computer and selecting your C: drive (or something that doesn't crash. Right click and select View and select Details.
    While still in My Computer (Windows Explorer) click Tools->Folder Options->View and click Apply to All Folders.
