i get the error "windows explorer has encountered an error and must close" when i try to access files on two different external harddrives i have hooked up to my laptop. i have a sony vaio grt with xp pro. i can still access the files through whatever program i might be using but to go to my computer then the drive itself, its a no go. one external is all music and one is movies and tv shows. i still use shrink and itunes no problem but cant open up any folders on their own, i hope someone can help. thanks, hoppy
Maybe the windows xp has problems your external HDs formating. One thing you can do for now is backing up all data on external HDs. Then use laptop create a new partition and format the external HDs. Your latop will read the external HDs without problems.
