windows explorer needs to close

    Hi

    When i open my external drive, and try to copy from pc to externall HDD it crashes with the "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

    Its annoying!!! Please can someone assist me!! Cheers!!

    This is actually really weird as I had the same exact problem literally an hour ago.

    These are the steps I took to fix the problem.


    1.Start--->Run--->REGSVR32 /u shmedia.dll
    2.Start--->Run--->regsvr32 quartz.dll

    The first step was getting rid of the Explorer error when you open the folder.

    The second step reloads the windows avi souce.

    Now assuming you had the same problem I did, you should have the K-Lite codec pack installed.

    1.Uninstall pack then reboot.
    2. Go to the software section of this site and download the newest version of K-Lite codec pack.

    Your files should be able to be transfered now.

    Still don't know what it happened... Maybe because they tried to update automatically? And screwed up some of the code? Who knows..
