windows hp recovery partition key HELP!

    i was wondering if there was a way to get the key that the recovery partition uses to activate windows. my old computer got attacked and it got the recovery partition as well, but i wanted to know if i could get the key off of it so i can install a fresh copy of windows with that key. kinda confusing? if anyone could help thatd be great

    Not off the recovery partition no. That partition is used to do a system recovery installation...if it's still intact, just run it from the startup menu. You won't need the key from it.

    also would have to use exact same version of windows for that key to work.

    i understand what your getting at, but my recovery partition got damaged and i had a spare copy of windows so all i need is the key. otherwise i wouldve recovered it the normal way.
