As a long-time windows user I am familiar with the windows key shortcuts. However, the windows key is more a hinderance than a help since when p[laying games, touching it by mistake crashes the game, or at least minimises it to the desktop. Therefore for the past two weeks i have been looking at ways of disabling the key. Many different strategies seem to be about, and i have tried about half a dozen of them, including some from the Microsoft website, yet nothing works. Does anyone know of a method that actually works? OS: Windows XP Professional SP2 KB: Microsoft Internet Keyboard PS/2
Hi, Have you tried this one http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/903 Not tried it myself, hope it helps.
i entered something like that but i think the binary value may hav been different (and i assume wrong) i'll try it and let you know. <Update> Yep it does!
Now, who'd think that? Actually i would now you come to mention it, maybe i should have said start menu button instead. Oh well never mind.
Does anyone know where I can find a hack key for Windows 98. I have to initialize a Virtual PC, and I can't find my cd key. I desperately need to get this done. Can anyone point me to an old 98 key that they aren't using?
I'm not sure that's a good place to be discussing this. Try searching for one via google. There'll be plenty around.
I apologize for the awkward question. I am working on my old system, and can't find the key. I have everything else, just not the key.
if you have your OS [bold]pre-installed[/bold]and you have the ability to access it (maybe through safe mode) you can get programs that recover your serial numbers...
The windows key is pretty annoying sometimes. I heard there is a gaming kb around that has an option to disable the windows key with a special button on the kb. I think it was made by logitech.
I originally disabled it for my old keyboard but my current one (Logitech media keyboard) doesn't require it since the key layout is different (suitable)
