I downloaded the Longhorn general user interface last night. No programs or anything like that, but it changes all the windows and buttons and folders and stuff to what Longhorn is supposed to look like. It's quite pleasant, makes a refreshing change from XP. It's more of a theme really The best thing about it is it uses a lot less ram than the XP interface. Not quite sure how that can be. I have 1Gig of ram and under normal usage Cacheman xp in the system tray informs me that I have about 650Mb remaining. Since changing to this new interface it's showing around 750Mb remaining and Windows explorer is much quicker. Files and folders open a lot faster than before. I think I'll keep this just for the speed advantage. Anybody else tried it yet?
The user interface is just that... the front end for the file management system. Since WFS has yet to be implemented you wont actually notice significant improvements in performance (or damn near any). After all, it's just a "skin" for windows

Drchips, that was funny. it trys to delete lots if stuff if you keep it runing. I should but that site on a general lab computer and freak some people out. But then I will have to fix it, so maybe not. Has anyone else noticed improvement with this skin? if so I might switch to it as well.
