Yes you can, but make sure that it is on the secondary ide connection on the other computer, or change the jumper to make it a slave to the OS drive on the other computer.

but on the other hd that is to get the me, is it on that hd or on a cd?? if on the hd on the other computer & the hd is bootable than why type e\:setup when it should c\:me\setup with me being the folder with all the cab files needed to load me.

the HDD that is to recive ME is blank...i formated it in DOS and i took the cab files before i formated the HDD and burned them to a CD

so now im trying to use the floppy boot disc and the CD with the cab files so i can install ME on the blank HDD.

(all i did to make the cabs cd was drag and drop the cabs files directly to a cd..so it is olny E:\cabs there is no windows or any other folder before the cabs folder)

PS. i checked to see if the SETUP.EXE file was there in the cabs folder and it is.

when booting off the me bootdisk, can you see the files on the cd? are you using a cdrw disk instead of cdr as that might be why you got the cdr101 error?

You may have made a dreadful mistake using D2D to burn those cab files. Possibly not, but you should have used Creator Classic to do it, not D2D or any other packet writing software. Packet writing software is unreliable, at best.

If you have those files on another computer, burn another CD, using Creator Classic. I would bet that you see the CD drive in DOS.

take a pencil eraser to the gold contacts of the ram to remove oxidation off them. remove all cards except for videocard. re-install me.
