I use Windows Media to play DVD's on my televsion. When watching the DVD is displays correctly onto the televsion.

However, when I place the movie on the hard drive and watch it directly from the hard drive, the view on my television is incorrect. It seems scruntched up or something. The display settins must be wrong or I'm doing something wrong. It's still watchable but the people in the movie are must skinnier...it gets on your nerves after a while.

    Thanks for any help.

for starters you didnt need to get windows media center so you could do that... you can do it with ANY version of windows.

try using a different media player to play the files... VLC media player is good have a google for it

it doesnt have remote function no. its just a standard media player like windows media player

i know that MCE has problems playing certain types of files so that might be what your experiencing... you could try downloading a codec pack like kl codec to see if that fixes the problem
