my dvd-rw will not play dvds after a microsoft service pack updated to windows media player 10. I get an error message that there is a digital copyright protection problem. Also dvd shrink will not rip dvds, the dvr seems unable to read in this mode as well. Everything was working fine until this damn softward update. Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion, how can I roll back the dmr? Also, I forgot to mention that I have windvd 5, and it won't play dvds either. How does a microsoft update affect windvd performance?

I did a search and came up with this website. Check it out.

    http://uk.geocities.com/thetomcatslair/Entertainment/DRM/Remove_DRM/remove_drm.html

It affects it because windows update, updates mostly Windows XP Drivers for programs or general windows files. When u have other programs to run these files they still need the windows XP driver files to run it. Sorta like it makes the program XP compatibale.

    I hope that helps...
