windows media player 11 problem

    hi!!
    i opeaned the windows media player 10 and it asked me to update it and i did but after restarting my computer when i tryied to open the wmp it asked me to validate so i did and it said you are using a counterfit windows (which i am) and it asking me to get a new windows. is there a way to get aroung this and still use wmp without getting new windows...

    thanks for replying anyway... i have done a system restore so at least i can use wmp 10.

    I got that message about an "update" for the windows media player. I started to update when I saw it was really a complete new version of WMP 11. NOT what I would call an update for WMP 10.

    I cancelled the install before it finished (without ill effect) and still have WMP 10. I do not want WMP 11 at this time.

    Shame on Microsoft for hiding a complete new version as a supposed "update" for the old version. Gotta love Uncle Bill.

    its probably got some nice new stuff then....which unfortunatly i cant have...:(
