I have Vista Home Basic x64 on a fairly fast machine. I currently use Windows Media Player 11 to watch my .avi files, but I'm wondering if there is anything out there has an even better, sharper picture quality and is worth switching to. I've heard that The KM Player is good, but how about WinDVD? And doesn't CyberLink offer something also?

you basically answered your own question I too use WMP i like the interface and easy of use especially when I am seated across the room on the couch watching my flicks, even though I can't really see I know where the conrtols are you can also use divx player i find the pictures look alot sharper when in use, PowerDVD has some quality options as does VLC player.
