I have a huge collection of CDRs I ripped over the years. I now want to rip them to my computer in Windows Media Player, but I want them sorted by album. Many of my CDRs have parts of albums or 2 albums. I want to be able to split the 2 on 1 CDs to two separate CDs on my media library, and the ones where I have them split between CDRs I want them merged under a single title in the media library. WMP appears to try to keep the titles to the same CDR title when ripped. For example: A-HA Hunting High & Low and Scoundrel Days. I have both titles on one CDR. I tried ripping just the Hunting High & Low tracks and named it as such. Then I reloaded the CDR and ripped the other 10 tracks under the edited title Scoundrel Days. When I reopened my Library, all 20 tracks are listed under Scoundrel Days. How can I get them separated? Scenario 2: I have an album and a half on one CDR and the rest of the second album on another CDR. How do I get them ripped to the same CD title under WMP without it also trying to add all the other tracks of both CDRS
I don't (and would never ever) use windows spyware player for anything to do with dvd or cd playing/copying/storage/editing.. in fact.. I would remove the horrid thing immediately.. but from what you describe it sounds like the player is making playlists using the file tags, especially if you can see no .m3a file anywhere. You could need an id3 tag editor.. As for ripping.. have a look at dbpoweramp .. which by chance also has a tag editor.
