Some websites require windows media player and i try installing the Flip4mac as well as windows media player 9 but they don't work any ideas on programs hat work or do i just have to deal with not being able to watch some videos online? I have Mac OSX 10.5.2
Ok. There are 4 different types of video for windows format. 2 of them do not function under mac os x leopard or tiger and there is a good reason why they don't viruses. There are video links right now on the internet that say windows only. This is a dead give away that the video contains spyware or malware for windows. Because no video file should be locked into one operating system. So if it says windows only don't download. The second video format that doesn't run is called fake video. Now when you download a video and it brings up a window telling you you need to download a special divx player in order to watch the video and the video will not play under the divx player from www.divx.com this is a fake video they are trying to scam you out of money. Another one is called popup video this are flash windows from several sites that try to bring up windows media player automaticlly. To play all video formats... Download vlc for mac. And flip4mac. The main reason is because if flip4mac wont play it vlc sure as heck will.
