Certain video files on the internet are crashing my computer. I have no idea why. I've been looking through http://gametrailers.com checking out different videos, and some of them crash me. I'll try to explain it as best I can, but I don't know much about software so bare with me. Many videos work fine. They load, I watch them, business as usual. Certain files, however, show me the advertisement (gametrailers.com sometimes has video clip ads before you see the video you want) and then when the ad is done and my video starts to load, I hear three or four 'click' noises and my computer instantly restarts. There's no message or problem displayed, I just try to open a video, and all of a sudden I hear 'click click click' and my screen goes black, and restarts. This is a problem because not only is it inconvenient, but it seems to be totally random, which pretty much means I'm playing the lottery with my PC every time I open a video file. If anyone's had this problem or knows how to fix it, PLEASE help me. So far, I've tried installing the codec for windows media 6, and it didn't work, so I went back to the codec for WM 9. I've scanned for viruses, malware, security threats and all that, and I seem clean. Thanks in advance for whatever comes my way, I've been getting alot of help from you all lately and it is much appreciated. I know I'll be passed this soon, too. Pangy

/slapmyselfintheface Thanks...I reinstalled Windows recently and assumed everything was up-to-date. My mistake ;_; Edit: if it saves me any loss of dignity at all, I'm on WM9 right now, not 6. ><
