Hi, I can hook up my tv out from my computer and see everything perfectly on my TV. The only problem that I have is that windows media will play on my computer monitor but on the TV it is blacked out. I am sure its a media player thing. Is there a way around this? I watch internet TV but my provider only uses media player.

    Thanks
    CWL

Might be some sort of 'rights management' deal with MP9.

I bet either 7 or 8 would work.

Look on your rig and see if you can find the old player mplayer2.exe (ver. 6.4). It should be in the Windows Media Player folder. See if you have any luck with that.

I have been able to play movies on the tv by making it the primary display. This works with all media players. I wish there was a way to play in clone mode. I have an inquiry into ATI on this and will share when they reply.

you could try going into display settings, and selecting the box that says stretch desktop, then drag the media player window over to the tv.

basically you want to get use of both displays at the same time right???

here's what u do. trash microsofts mediaplayer, its among the vorst players on the scen.
go to www.videolan.org and get the vlc player. Videolan is an open source projekt with playback of all video files there is, without having to download a separate codecs for eache type of encoding. And it runs perfectly with tv-out.
Seriously, videoplayback from microsoft? Get real, there are alternatives to feeding bill's fat purse.

    Hi again,

Now, all of a sudden it works with all players. I selected the monitor, advanced, display, selected the tv and then clone. I thought I did that before, but, now it works.

    Regards,
    Huey

I had the same problem and everyone else kinda figured it out too. You need to change your video display options to your TV ONLY. I have not been able to have both running and have it work corretly. I was recording shows using beyond tv 3(WOW just as good as tivo if not better, free trial download!)and i couldent see it when I tried to play them. Anyways switched to tv only mode and it works perfectly. Using nvida geforce mx 4000.
