i have windows movie maker and im trying edit some movies of mine, but my camera only takes movies in quicktime MOV. files which movie maker doesnt surport. i googled what type of files it surported and changed the type, but then it said i need a codec for it. i've never used a codec so if some1 could tell me how to use them and maybe give me a link for one that works with WMM that would be great thanks to all...later
I am a bit inexperienced in system add-in's, but I do alot of edited home movies, your DV camera should be in AVI format, do you connect your camera to the firewire cable and press capture video in Movie Maker? (taking it directly from the camera, instead of a file), I don't like using Movie Maker I find it freezes alot, I prefer Adobe Premier Elements, it seems to have more features and isn't that complicated. I am pretty sure both programs capture in AVI and change the format to mpeg with will play in Window's media player if you have that set to the default program. Hopefully I gave you some help or ideas
