It doesn't work every time, but I just rename the VOB files to .MPG and MovieMaker will accept them directly. It usually works but sometimes Movie Maker will lock up when writing the file out.

Of course you can use NeroVision to convert DVD files to something MovieMaker can use but that is an extra step and loss of quality.

    NeroVision 4:

    Start NeroVision
    Select: "Make Movie"
Click "Browse for media" button (folder and magnifying glass)
Choose "browse and add to project" option
Navigate to your VOB file(s) and select them.
    Do whatever editing you want
Click on Export (or Next to get to a menu that also has Export)

You get the file you exported from Nerovision into Movie Maker by importing it into MovieMaker.

Just curious, did simply renaming the VOB files to MPG and importing them into MovieMaker work? Why go through the extra steps if you don't need to?

Sorry, i didn't try and just rename them because i didn't no how to do it.
Once you have exported the files and imported them into windows movie maker, Do you no how you can take out the wind sounds on the video and replace them with music?
