I'm having trouble coping these large video files to my external HD. Is there a program I can use to split it into smaller sections so that I can copy them over? I'm trying to free up my PC harddrive. All of the rest of the videos are normal MPEGs but for whatever reason I have 3 huge (11G to 16G) Windows MPEG-2 files. Could these the same as AVI files?

Mpeg and avi are both video files - although different formats.

Did you capture the files from a video camera?
Play them and decide whether to keep, dump, or convert to a compressed format (avi).
