hi lads'my next door neighbour got a dell pc of a friend a few years back'in the last week microsoft pop ups pop up at start up telling me the version of windows is not genuin or was not the right reg key that may be of a other pc,it then ask u to go to a microsoft site to check it and reslove it,as far as i no this guy did load windows xp profesional,the desktop backround also changes to a blank screen but short cuts are still there,iv ghanged it back a few times but on start up it just goes back to black screen'can anyone tell me how to stop this/the microsoft warning/the screen.otherwise it works fine.
check the microsoft site for a program called "removewga" or "remove wga". they brought that out when some legit windows showed up not genuine on the desktop.
