I have windows vista and all of a sudden my vista will no longer connect to my network for "unknown reason". I've called my internet provider and they said that everything was ok and that it was a Windows problem as the Dlink adapter is able to locate the network, Windows just won't connect to it. After fighting with them, I was advised to call Microsoft. They said it is possible that it could be a glitch in windows and to either do a reboot or re-installation. Before doing this, and losing all my work, I contacted D Link and they said that there is nothing wrong with the adapter as it is reading the network and that Windows is the problem.

So.. here I am - re-installed Windows from my recovery CD and I am still getting the same error message. Please help!!!

there could be a driver conflict let me see if I am getting you right the adapter works you can see your network you have entered your network key/passphrase but cannot connect to it no matter what. If this is the case you may need to clear your ip addresses so it can aquire the new one here is a link to perform the task http://www.volexperience.com/2009/05/perform-ipconfigrelease-and-ipconfigrenew-in-windos-vista/ sometimes a new driver comes out that just won't work you can try uninstalling the driver and installing the previous version this has happened to me with the Ralink chip found in several wireless adapters. If nothing works please post your pc specs and what wirelss adapter you are using and model number also a google search can often reveal a fix.
