I've heard before that 1GB of Ram for the average Mac user is sufficient. And I've also head that 1GB of Ram for a PC is bare minimum, with people suggesting at least 2GB. Fist, can anyone substantiate validity in this statement? If so, if I were to install Windowns on a Macbook, would that 1GB of Ram on my Macbook no longer be comfortably sufficient?
1GB should be fine but it is only like a $35 upgrade to 2GB... I would say 1GB is sufficient but for the price of the upgrade i would upgrade... I will find the link for the Ram and post it if you want...
Okay... If you're using windows through a virtual machine like Parallels or VMware Fusion then you're going to be using Mac OS X and Windows at the same time. RAM is going to be tight. Get as much RAM as you can. If you're booting into Windows you're not going to need any extra RAM. 1 GB would suffice. I just put 3 GB of RAM into my MacBook and it's been a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.
