i have been trying to do a re-install of windows xp but when i try to goto recovery at the startup of windows it delays for a few moments and then continues on to boot up computer...if i understand when i restart my computer i hit the f11 key and it should take me into the recovery or restore options in the BIOS screen?? i also have another problem which i have posted before but couldnt find a solution ..my computer randomly shuts off at certain points im not sure what causes it or how to correct it...i have uninstalled most programs besides windows programs and dont use the computer much right now because this is an annoying problem...i could be burning a cd and power will shut off...ripping a dvd and power will shut off, etc. etc. etc. anyone have thoughts or suggestions..i was hoping by a re-install that maybe i could rid the computer of this problem?? hp notebook pavilion dv2125nr windows xp professional 5.1.2600 service pack 3 build 2600[/quote]
power shutting off could be caused by a thermal shutdown of the cpu. do you have to wait awhile before restarting laptop or can you restart right away?
I CAN IMMEDIATELY TURN BACK ON? I THOUGHT IT WAS GETTING TOO HOT BUT IM NOT SURE AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I WOULD CORRECT IT
