Just got this virus last night. It has hidden all my files. I am sure they are still there somewhere. Does anyone have any idea on how to stop this virus and recover my files. Thanks
download & run a linux live cd,save the files you want be sure to zip them,then reformat & reinstall,from this point use a free imaging software like easeus to take snap shots of your windows partition & also get better security software assuming you had any installed
Yeah sorry bro only reason i say is reformat reinstall is it normally takes days to repair any damage done by a virus even then you don't know what else it's suffed up till it happens,so using an imaging program at various stages of reinstalling will give you piece of mind if anything happens again & you will have a working OS to restore in less than 30mins,tho it is better to have two copies of a backup preferably keeping one set on an external

i have recently had a virus on my pc but a friend removed it by installing micrsoft securityantivirus software, i also have the latest avg, so now everytime i use the internet go to next page it takes forever and something in the background is loading??please help
