An over view of the the what i'm trying to do is, an educational institution having 4 different departments teaching a different subject, each subject contains different courses. The different uses attending a course is only supposed to see that particular course folder with the material that resides in the subject folder. Would like to seek advice frm the experts regarding OUs n Group policies. Was wondering if come one could advice me, i have shared a folder with an Ou, is it possible for a shortcut of tt folder to be seen on the desktop automatically on the desktop or start menu?? This is because i want different user account to see different folders. Getting a headache frm this, just took over the server n have no experience! Any step by step tutorials n advice that to help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't tell you how to do this step by step.. but you may want to research roaming profiles. I don't know if you are familiar with them.. but you can set them up so that a user's (or group of user's) desktop is stored in a specific folder on the server. Any computer the user logs on to will have the same desktop, all which is contained in a specific folder (the user must have permissions to this folder).
