I have a Lite On DVD burner, Windows Vista, Intel Core 2 6700. I have used the same DVD+RW discs for many successful burns. For some reason any time I try to burn anything, or even attempt to format the discs I get a message stating the discs are write protected.

I've tried several DVD+RW discs and the same thing happens on all of them. I first thought the burner was going out so I had a friend try the discs and they worked fine on her machine. I even installed a friends DVD burner on my machine and the same thing happens.

My computer dual boots with Linux Ubuntu and the burner works fine with that OS, just not in Windows any longer.

It does still burn DVD-R's ok.

    Any thoughts?

Daemon Tools was interfering with it. I turned off all emulations and that fixed it.
