Updating windows and it’s saying to the right
    ‘This PC doesn’t currently meet
    The minimum system
    Requirements to run
    Windows 11”

per my PC specs in sig it should be fine
    Any solution? E9AF69F8-B68A-43DA-8985-2712D616CCEB.

check that the new motherboard has win 11 drivers before buying the board as that will tell you if the board is truly win 11 compatible. use the ssd for windows & the mechanical for data as that is what I've done to both of my towers.

It's possible to install Windows 11 on many unsupported rigs (link below). My board is supported but my CPU, Ryzen 7 1700 is not. I recently acquired a laptop with Windows 11 and a 17.3" screen to keep me busy. I really don't see a need for the upgrade because Win10 is still being supported to 2025. By then I will want to build a new rig anyway. So why rush?

Yes, I get a message telling me my processor is not supported. I have a laptop that has Windows 11, and I found it mostly annoying because like Windows 10, it changed desktop navigation. Sometimes the latest isn't necessarily the greatest. In the next 3 years I will probably build a new rig. I have a retail copy (Not OEM) of Windows 10, which means I can install it on as many PCs as I can build, as long as it's only on one PC at a time. That on a new build should get me a free upgrade, which excites me to the level of "meh."

I’m not using my custom built machine much anymore and thinking about switching to just a laptop and get a external DVDROM drive it’s all I really need now , what are some good brands to look at ?

What's good and what's not is relative since many laptop makers farm their parts from the same manufacturers. Start by considering how it will be used. For instance, I purchased mine for travel net search, email, and online video streaming so I began by looking for a laptop with a 17.3" HD screen. I have a collection of loads of movies and close to 50 complete TV series stored on 1 TB portable Solid state discs.

Note to self, and should the occasion arise, do not ask ddp for help with my laptop. :D
