On my pc i set up about four different users for family use. Its a family pc so im supposed to share or some crap like that. Basically i do everything to maintain this pc. So my annoying ass brother keeps installing these games that slow up the pc. I changed his account to limited, but some how he keeps changing it to administrater. I changed my user password twice thinking thats how he got in, and all other users are limited. Does anyone know how he keeps changing his account to administrater? Or how i can stop him from switching his sccount type? Thanks alot,
    MrX

unfortunetly sinces hes got his own account theres no way to stop him getting access to the admin password. many software loitering about on the internet that will extract all users passwords including the admins. he could also be using a boot disk to simply boot up and get the adminm password that way.

not many way to get round this but maybe some kind of third party software like Lockdown. ive never used it but it does allow extra security to be placed on a Windows operating system.

tbh if its only games hes installing these should have no effect on the day to day running of the pc. check the startup programs and take away any that should be starting up when the pc boots.

    Windows XP >>

goto START MENU >> RUN >> MSCONFIG >> STARTUP (i think, gave up on XP a long time ago.)

in there will be a list of what starts when the pc boots, anything that doesnt look system required (eg Realplayer.exe) should be untick to stop it loading into memory.

Also if your running with 512MB RAM then id recommend that you use FreeRAM XP Pro. this applications defragments your RAM keeping it running better with more RAM available to use.

    hope some of that helps.
