    Hi

    Can someone please help me??

I have recently brought a new laptop with windows vista ultimate as the operating system and have tried to set up a wireless home network with another laptop running xp.

I can go onto the network tab in vista and can see two icons one displaying media option another displaying the computer icon I can select the media option and happily browse through all the music on the xp laptop, when I try to select the computer icon it comes up with the following error message

    Windows cannot access \\EISYSTEM

Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise there might be a problem with your network.

    Error code: 0x80070035
The network path was not found

Has anyone got any ideas please?

    Thank you

    hey
I'm pretty sure 0X800..... error codes are firewall issues, check if you have enabled file and printer sharing & see if there are any firewall or security software blocking the sharing & make sure you have shared some files or folders to begin with. Also there is a good little program which may be able to help you set up a network, check out www.networkmagic.com/download/
I am almost positive the problem would be the windows firewall tho, what security software do you use?

You have to open up a port in your firewall,im pretty sure your using Norton on your Visat laptop(as most laptops and my new Vista laptop came with Norton).Go into the help option in Windows media player(on Vista laptop) and select PC sharing.Somewhere their should be something about networking a Vista PC with a XP PC and it will show you the ports that have to be opend up to allow you to share with any PC.Now go to your firewall's options and make sure all listed ports on WMP are open if their not just open them up.Should work
