While I used XP Home I had no problems with DVD Shrink. However since I changed to Vista Home Premium I cannot get DVD Shrink to work. When I try to use Shrink I can open the disc and backup with no problems but I cannot get any further. Is DVD Shrink compatible with Vista or should I go back to XP Home,\.
A lot of people are sticking with XP as long as possible, me included. I've heard programs like Shrink will work in compatibility mode. You might want to check into that.
it works but you have to set it up different like Pacman stated or you can try different programs like clonedvd 2 + anydvd they will work with Vista well http://www.slysoft.com/en/
Good option if you don't mind paying for the retail programs. Shrink is free and still works. Just remember to use the free DVDFab HD Decrypter to rip the newer DVDs with the more difficult copy protections.
I'm not sure I understand the problem. The member says that Shrink opens and backs up and he can get no farther. Does Shrink quit after clicking Backup! or will it not autoburn with Decrypter, Nero or ImgBurn? I use Shrink to create ISOs which I later burn with ImgBurn so I don't do autoburning. I also installed Shrink normally in Vista Premium and use it normally (no compatability mode).
As for that statement, laddyboy is right. When the program finishes the backup (transcoding), it's done unless it is calling up a supported burner. First thing to do there is check and make sure the burn settings are what the user wants them to be. Now I'm wondering if glenafton used the term backup correctly.
