hi all. The other day my disc drive stopped working I tried many dvd and it didnt read any. It rotates the dvd for a while then stops and then starts again after a while. I went to the technician he said its a software issue as the drive looks perfectly fine. i tried going to the registry and it didnt have upper and lower filters. plus i tried to uninstall the driver and reinstall it nothing happened. any help would be great
moved to correct forum as not a windows issue. see if can boot off a known good working windows disk. if can then is a software issue, if can't then the drive needs to be replaced. try in another pc to see if still have problem or not.
