Windows wont boot up when cd-writer is plugged in

    Windows wont boot up when the cd-writer has power supply plugged in, but will boot when its unplugged before i turn computer on. Then the cd writer will work when i plug the power supply in after i turn the cmputer on and it boots up....can anyone help me figure this out?

    Check all cables. Most likely you have an unkeyed ribbon cable plugged in backwards. Are there any BEEPS when the system boots?
