help!!!!!!!! i got XP home reinstalled on my p4, it was working fine for about a week, now it will not start without having the disc in the drive. without the disc, the computer does not start at all, it does not even go to the flash screen, just sits there doing nothing, disc drives do not even start up, monitor does nothing, keyboard lights do not even come on. when i put the windows disc in, every thing is fine. what is going on???? computer is not hooked up to internet, so it cant have a virus or malware, hdd's were formatted before re-installing XP.................... help, i am pulling my hair out, and i aint got much of that either.

Well first U need to go to BIOS and enable "boot from cd option" , then insert your winxp cd, during the restart u should see "press any key to boot from cd" , then while it loads all of its crap go to "press enter to setup winxp" , press F8, then choose "R" for repair, what it will do is erase everything there is in the WINDOWS folder and replace with "new" files, this is probably the best option for you 'cause it will restore any file that got deleted/corrupted.
