Windows xp and 4gb of RAM

    From what ive read you can only have your computer recognize ~3.3gb if you are running windows xp 32bit. I installed 4gb and i can only get 2.5gb to show up. Can someone help me with getting that a little higher. Ive tied to manipulate the setting under virtual memory to no avail.

    do you happen to have onboard video with shared memory?

    try installing a 64 bit version of XP

    Not much help with the original issue...If the OP has
    then XP64 wouldnt show all 4GB either.
