My mum recently asked me to clean her computer of programs she doesn't use and speed up her machine as it was taking forever to log on. I did that but I think I've accidentally deleted something that maybe I shouldn’t have. When I switch on the computer now it boots up ok and when it comes to the menu log on screen I can select who to log onto but and before it can it reboots. It can do this for 30mins before allowing me to log on. Is there anything I can do to rectify this or should I just wipe the harddrive and just reinstall the software she needs. Oh I have tried the system restore but I’ve had no luck there either.

    Thanks in advance

If you can log into Windows, you need to backup your data just in case. Then, if you have a recovery disc try repairing.

and if you do choose to use "repair" and your other programs will get nutralized so be prepared to re-install them.
