I really need some help on this one. If anyone has encountered a problem like this and found a solution, please let me know. I installed Nero 7 UE onto my computer and was creating some VCD's for playback on my DVD player. It was working fine but I absolutely had to perform a system restore on my computer for a remote connection. Now after the restore, I realized that I couldn't access Nero anymore (as well as other programs I had previously installed). The folders for Nero were there and the shortcut as well but I couldn't open the application. The error message said that I had to reinstall the program (I managed to reinstall all the programs except for Nero). I kept on getting an error message that says "Installation corrupted - Please reinstall nero". I tried to reinstall nero again and got the same error message. I downloaded the program file and tried again but got the same message. After the system recovery, the folders for Nero were there and I thought that if I uninstalled the program and then reinstalled it then it would work, but when I went to control panel->add/remove prgrams to uninstall it and do a clean installation, Nero was not there in the add/remove prgram directory. Does anyone has any suggestions? I got some help here at afterdawn once before and I hope someone can help me out on this one now. Thank you m_ceberus
when it said you has to reinstall , how did you uninstall it or did you attempt to just over write it. Try using nero clean tools first from the link below and then then try reinstalling nero http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html
At first I tried to reinstall over it and then I tried to uninstall then reinstall but I could not use the add/remove program to uninstall it since it was not in the uninstall menu. The folders did not have an uninstall option either so I deleted them (which I know it not the right way but I couldnt do much with them in there anyway). But, is there a specific nero clean tool I should use?
Ok. I used the general tool and then the reg cleaner to be on the safe side. I tried reinstalling and I got the same error. But, after I clicked on "OK" the installation continued and it installed completely. I am about to try it out and see if it works. Is the error that popped up any cause for concern? Is so, what can I do Thank you m_ceberus
I notice you have Nero7, maybe you should try this General Clean Tool for Nero7 http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html When you go to re install, try this version of Nero7, some of the other versions were causing problems http://httpdl6.us.nero.com/software/nero7/Nero-7.0.1.4b_eng_no_yt.exe
Thank you all for helping me out. I got the Nero to work again after I cleaned out the registry and other files using the cleaning tools.
