    Hello,
I formatted the hard drive and started to install windows media center (three disc version)during the install it says put in disc 2 . When this happens It say missing i386 in D/1386 it cannot find this on disc 2. I installed this about a year ago with no problems on a different computer with no problems. This is a new windows cd just received it last week. Any ideas? thanks

I just installed the same OS on my computer with the three disc, even though the third disc says upgrade I was told that it was the service pack two. I had a similar problem, took out the upgrade disc and put the number two disc in and it kept going with the install. I 'm not completely done with the install but windows is working and I don't think that any info came off the update disc. The windows support web site should be able to help with your problem, I have done so much in the past few days getting it installed that I have forgotten what all I did but I find the microsoft page I'll post the link.

Unfortunately the disc says version 2005 but my computer is telling me it's version 2002, I wonder if it is normal or if the update disc is what changes that?
