so i decided to have a look in my windows/prefetch folder to see what was in there and it turns out there is only like 15 - 20 files all dated yesterday, shouldnt there be much more than this dating back months? would like to make sure im getting the full benefit of using prefetch, any help mucho appreciated.

    Check
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters

    1 boot processes
    2 applications
    3 both

Yeah, prefetch is Window's way of guessing what it should load into memory because you've used those programs on a daily basis. Making the system respond a bit faster when loading the same programs.

I set my parameters to 2, since I want the system to load only the core files...leaving the Windows\Prefetch folder empty.
