I am having endless problems with my windows xp custom built machine and I want to reboot the whole system with windows again. Unfortunately i dont have reboot cd's so i was wondering if there was some way you could get the necessary files from your computer adn then burn another copy of windows and load it again?? If not, is there a way of going about getting microsoft to mail me another copy of windows or a backup disc???

Thanks for any help that can be given.

When you say reboot I assume you mean reinstall you cant reinstall a a fresh copy of windows from the files on your hdd unless your pc has a recovery partition and if the PC was custom built it probably doesnt
to get a replacment cd you need to contact microsoft if it was a retail version of windows or the manufacturer of your system if it was a oem version

make sure to back up your hard drive before you re-format. this is especially important if you have a lot of music, photos, or documents.
