I am running XP with service pack 1. Whenever I boot up I am asked if I want to install SP2. I tried to install it twice, and both times it got about a third of the way and just stopped! Is there a fix for this? Am I missing anything important in SP2?
im surprised its not asking you to install sp3.you should be able to install that as it combines sp2 and some other updates.
I suggest going one step further and instead of using MS updater service, just download the update and run it. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Signatures-Updates/Windows-XP-SP3.shtml You dont have to worry about connections with MS timing out or stalling if you are running the update off your own machine.
