windows ???

    i got another pc with windows 98 on it,,for me 2 put windows xp on it,,would i need 2 format n start from scratch ???

    you could get Windows XP Upgrade version. Or you should be able to remove Windows 98 by putting in the disc and booting from it and removing it that way and that should allow you to keep everything else. and once its removed you should be able to boot using the Windows XP disc and installing XP and this process should keep all your exsisting data in tact.

    install xp from within 98 as an upgrade. did that yesterday on a customer's computer.
