I'm somewhat new to this. I'm having trouble fitting my movies onto the DVD+Rs and was wondering if there was anything I could do about it. My windvd came with my Toshiba Qosmio. I recorded some things from the built-in TiVo and want to burn it onto DVD. So I edited the movies and made the DVD menus. It comes out to about two hours. When I go to "Make Movie" it shows that I have overshot the size of the movie. Is there anything I can do to fit like three to four hours onto a DVD+R? (It's supposed to fit four).
File size is directly related to bitrate. Your tivo records at a given rate, and (almost) the only way to get more on a disk, is to re-encode the files to a lower bitrate. You have already authored your files, and they're (probably) sitting in a VIDEO_TS folder. Get DVDShrink and load that folder. Choose full backup. It will shrink the whole thing to fit on one disk, and you just burn it as normal.
